Other than that, there used to be (is) a terminal command to keep your Mac running with lids closed. Right-click the Amphetamine icon, and then select End Current. It should keep running if you connect an external keyboard, mouse / monitor. To end the current session, so that your Mac will drift off to sleep whenever you close the lid, either: Left-click the Amphetamine icon, so that the line is horizontal.
